A core of 1920s to 1940s houses survives in Colee Hammock, with Spanish Revival, Mission and Art Moderne among the styles the city surveyed, and newer townhomes fill in around them. For an original fireplace the decision usually comes down to three paths: restore it, convert it to gas, or retire it in favor of an electric unit. A townhome brings a different choice about the dryer vent, because shared walls can force a long duct run to the outside.
